Inexpensive wedding table centerpieces (I)

Here is an inexpensive centerpiece with dollar stretching flowers. We used a six inch moss covered container ($3.70)

Added a block of pre-soaked floral foam or commonly known as “Aquafoam” which was inserted into the container.  Then we added 5 stems of salal commonly known as lemon leaves.  Next up, Gypsophillia a.k.a Baby’s breath.  This tiny flower has come back into vogue for weddings with a roar.  I like the million star variety as pictured here.  The flowers are more delicate than the traditional variety.  In this case we used approximately 1/3 of the bunch to create the lovely pillow of flowers.  The accent flower is Stock, of which we used about one bunch or ten stems.  Stock is not only cheap but has the added value of fragrance.  Simple, chic and cheap a flora-licious trifecta of beauty.

Stock comes in white, cream, lavender, yellow, light lavender, purple, fushia and pinks.  You could use delphiniums, larkspur or Iris’s if you need blues.  There are many other budget flowers available.  This is a fun one to make and it’s a “do it yourself centerpiece “ solution to having an floral arrangement for around $17.00-$19.00 If you like this use of baby’s breath I will be posting another tip/picture next week with a whole new twist.
